Within the nook of the room you see a cardboard field. The lid is sliced ajar, and its sides are huge like two open arms. A window of sunshine casts into its corners and a tether of ripped packing tape sways like a damaged sail. You think about the within, its cool, secure, darkish corners and for a second you want to return. You then discover one thing. A path of small scratches, a torn edge. The reminiscence of a captivity, of an escape, of a freedom. You lace your footwear and fasten your purse, slinging it throughout your shoulder. You stand, open the door and stroll into the sunshine.
